Bulut Bilişim: İşletmeler için Fırsatlar ve Zorluklar

Öz

Bulut bilişim kavramı bilişim hizmetlerinin sunulması ve kullanılmasına yönelik uygulanmaya başlayan yeni bir yaklaşımı ifade etmektedir. Bu yaklaşımın firmalara sağlayabileceği avantajlar ve meydana getireceği değişimin potansiyeli göz önüne alındığında, internetten sonra bilişim dünyasında meydana gelen en önemli yenilik olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle bulut bilişim kavramının gelişimi ve ilgili teknolojiler, günümüzde görülen uygulamaları örnekleri ile açıklanmış ve sınıflandırılmıştır. Daha sonra bu yeni bilişim modelinin işletmeler için sağlayacağı faydalar üzerinde durulmuş, özellikle maliyet, esneklik ve hizmet kalitesi bağlamında bu faydalar ele alınmıştır. Ancak bu teknolojilerin işletmelere sağlayacağı faydalara karşın, kullanımı ile ilgili güvenlik başta olmak üzere bir takım riskler ve uygulamada yaşanabilecek zorluklar da bulunmaktadır. Çalışmada işletmelerin farkında olması gereken risklere ve bu bilişim modelinin uygulanması ile ilgili yasal zorluklara dikkat çekilmiştir. Son olarak firmaların bulut bilişim konusunda sergileyecekleri yaklaşım ve benimseyebilecekleri stratejiler ele alınmış ve konu ile ilgili önerilerde bulunulmuştur

Cloud Computing: Opportunities and Challenges for Businesses

Öz

Cloud computing represents a new approach for supplying and using information technology services. Considering its benefits for firms and the potential of changes that it may lead to, it is envisioned that cloud computing can be the most important innovation in information technology since the development of the internet. In this study, firstly, the development of cloud computing and related technologies are explained and classified by giving current application examples. Then the benefits of this new computing model for businesses are elaborated especially in terms of cost, flexibility and service quality. In spite of its benefits, cloud computing also poses some risks for firms, of which security is one of the most important, and there are some challenges in its implementation. This study points out the risks that companies should be wary about and some legal challenges related to cloud computing. Lastly, approaches that companies may take against cloud computing and different strategies that they may adopt are discussed and some recommendations are made
