“Taş Çeşme” located on the road junction of Isparta-Eğirdir-Atabey on an old caravan route can be considered intact with its nearly facade composition, simple decoration the construction material has reached today. “Taş Çeşme” is features a range fountain because it is located on the edge of the caravan road. This historical fountain located at the road junction is probably not seen from the road because it is located between the vineyards and slightly below the soil level, and since it is not known much, it has not been investigated by the researchers except the catalog and inventory study. When “Taş Çeşme” is examined in the terms of the plan, facade layout and material-workmanship, it is possible that the fountain was built during the Classical Ottoman Period. It is understood that the fountain, which does not have much ornamental elements, was built in an archaic style compared to its contemporaries in some big provinces. As such, “Taş Çeşme” is a candidate to be the oldest fountain of Isparta. Since the fountain is buried in the soil until about half, there is a possibility that the trough, mirror stone, jug steps and even inscription of the fountain will be found as a result of a cleaning excavation. Especially if the inscription is encountered, it is very likely to have some information about the period of the fountain.
