Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza çağdaş Hıristiyan teolojisinde özellikle Kutsal Kitap yorumu ve feminist teolojiye yaptığı katkılarla tanınan önemli bir feminist teologdur. Kadınların deneyimlerini ve bakış açılarını merkeze alarak Hıristiyan kutsal metinlerini yorumlamanın yeni yollarını geliştirmede etkili olması onu feminist teolojinin temel figürlerinden biri hâline getirmiştir. Bu çerçevede o hem akademisyenleri hem de inanırları ataerkil sistemlerden etkilenmiş olan geleneksel yorumları sorgulayarak daha eşitlikçi okumalar yapmak suretiyle Kutsal Kitap’a bir şüphe hermenötiği ile yaklaşmaya teşvik etmiştir. Bu hermenötik yaklaşım üzerine inşa ettiği feminist teolojisi ile Schüssler
Fiorenza, Kilise’yi ataerkil yapılarıyla yüzleşmeye, marjinalleştirilmiş seslerin, özellikle de kadınların seslerinin memnuniyetle karşılandığı ve güçlendirildiği bir alan olmaya davet etmiştir. Fiorenza böylece feminist Kutsal Kitap yorumunun sadece akademik bir egzersiz değil, Kilise ve toplum içinde gerçek bir değişime yol açabilecek dönüştürücü bir uygulama olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Bu araştırmada Batı feminizminin önemli isimlerinden biri olan Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza’nın Kutsal Kitap yorum çalışmaları bağlamında ortaya koyduğu feminist perspektifi ve bu görüşlerin sonraki teologlar üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir.

Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza’s Biblical Interpretation and Contributions to Feminist Theology

Öz

Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza is an important feminist theologian in contemporary Christian theology, particularly known for her contributions to biblical interpretation and feminist theology. Her influence in developing new ways of interpreting Christian scripture by centering women’s experiences and perspectives has made her a central figure in feminist theology. In this framework, she has encouraged both scholars and believers to approach the Bible with a hermeneutic of suspicion by questioning traditional interpretations that are influenced by patriarchal systems and by more egalitarian readings. Building on this hermeneutic, Schüssler Fiorenza’s feminist theology invited
the church to confront its patriarchal structures and become a space where marginalized voices, especially women’s voices, are welcomed and empowered. Fiorenza thus demonstrated that feminist biblical interpretation is not just an academic exercise but a transformative practice that can lead to real change within the church and society. This study examines the feminist perspective of Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza, an important figure in Western feminism, in the context of biblical interpretation studies and the impact of these views on subsequent theologians.
