This review examines Georg B. Michels’s The Habsburg Empire under Siege in the context of seventeenth-century Ottoman-Habsburg- Hungarian relations and the grand vizierate of Köprülüzâde Fazıl Ahmed Pasha. It discusses Michels’s findings on the difficulties facing the Habsburg Empire, Hungarian borderland societies, Protestant resistance, exile networks, and Ottoman protection policies. While emphasizing the book’s contribution to trans-imperial history, it argues that the book’s portrait of Fazıl Ahmed Pasha needs to be considered within a broader Ottoman historiographical framework.

Bu yazıda Georg B. Michels’in The Habsburg Empire under Siege (Kuşatma Altındaki Habsburg İmparatorluğu) başlıklı eseri, on yedinci yüzyıl Osmanlı-Habsburg-Macar ilişkileri ve Köprülüzâde Fazıl Ahmed Paşa’nın sadareti bağlamında değerlendirilmektedir.
