SİYASAL TEOLOJİ ve FÂRÂBÎ’NİN SİYASET FELSEFESİNİN BAĞLAMI SORUNU

Religion has a central importance in al-Farabi’s political philosophy. In his political thought, a delicate balance is established between religion, philosophy, and politics. This balance requires careful reading. This central point also constitutes the source of discussions about the context of al-Farabi’s political philosophy. Massimo Campanini evaluates al-Farabi’s political philosophy within the context of Carl Schmitt's political theology, which is a contemporary field of study and is based on the thesis that political concepts are closely related to theological concepts. For, if political theology is a kind of politics that relies on God to achieve its aims, and the concept of God as the highest legislature is a form of political theology, Islam has its own political theology; al-Farabi’s political philosophy is also compatible with it. For this reason, it is possible to say that Fârâbî is the pioneer of political theology in Islam. On the other hand, some thinkers such as Leo Strauss and Muhsin Mehdi claim that al-Farabi’s political philosophy should be read in the context of political philosophy. Dimitri Gutas suggests ethically based reading as a third approach. In the study, the problem of the context of al-Farabi’s political philosophy is analyzed through these three reading styles.

Din, Fârâbî’nin siyaset felsefesinde merkezi bir öneme sahiptir. Onun siyasi düşüncesinde din, felsefe ve siyaset arasında hassas bir denge kurulur. Bu denge dikkatli bir okuma gerektirir. Bu merkezi nokta, Fârâbî’nin siyaset felsefesinin bağlamı hakkında ortaya çıkan tartışmaların da kaynağını teşkil eder. Massimo Campanini, Fârâbî’nin siyaset felsefesini çağdaş bir çalışma alanı olan ve siyasal kavramların teolojik kavramlarla sıkı bir şekilde ilişkili olduğu tezine dayanan Carl Schmitt’in siyasal teolojisi kapsamında değerlendirir. Zira, eğer siyasal teoloji, amaçlarını gerçekleştirmek için Tanrı’ya dayanan bir tür siyaset ise ve en yüksek yasama organı olarak tanrı kavramı da bir tür siyasal teoloji biçimi ise İslam’ın kendi siyasal teolojisi vardır; Fârâbî’nin siyaset felsefesi de onunla uygunluk arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle Fârâbî’nin İslam’da siyasal teolojinin öncüsü olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Diğer taraftan Leo Strauss ve Muhsin Mehdi gibi bazı düşünürler ise Fârâbî’nin siyaset felsefesinin politika felsefesi bağlamında okunması gerektiğini iddia etmektedirler. Dimitri Gutas ise üçüncü bir yaklaşım olarak etik temelli okumayı önerir. Çalışmada Fârâbî’nin siyaset felsefesinin bağlamı sorunu, bu üç okuma biçimi üzerinden analiz edilmektedir.
