Evaluation of Kastamonu Urban Road Planting by Users and Determination Species

The roads are skeletons of planned development cities and determine developing direction of cities. Urban roads,
refuge and pedestrian paths have important roles in urban open green space systems. These areas are open-green
areas that are served to all the city people and utilized as the most closely and widely and especially, these areas have
a position which can be considered the city’ s showcase. Planting activities that are made in urban roads, refuge and
pedestrian paths provides many contribution to urban people in terms of visual and functional.
This scope of study, Kastamonu urban highway routes are evaluated in five different templates. Moreover, plant
species are separately evaluated as roadside, refuge and junction in these routes, and then the plant species that are
used in this area are proved. Finally, by photograghy of five different templates which are used in Kastamonu,
evaluations in terms of safety-comfort, aesthetic and planting arrangment are desired from pedestrian and driver and
it is reported that the which template is more preferred by user according to which criteria.
