The sun and the moon were also presumed to be holy in the conception of the Turks, as in history it was considered in their religion ( sky religion) that the sun and the moon were under the tent of the sky. The Turks presumed the sun and the moon as holy and heavenly souls. The Turks have never accepted the sun and the moon as gods, they’ve only attributed some divinity to them. These celestial bodies were presumed as holy while they were struggling with evil, brought the light who expulsed the darkness, which was assumed as the mother of evil endowed by God, they cause richness, and warrant peace. In this study we’ve researched when the beliefs related with sun and the moon were arisen by the Turks, under which condition did it flourish and what was it impressed of, what are the meanings of the rituals determined in beliefs related with these celestial bodies?
