CHIEFDOM AND EARLIER STATE: HISTORIOGRAPHY ON TYGYN’S EPOCH
Öz
The article studies the problem of the existence of the culture of Potestas among the
Sakha in the pre-Russian period. The myth about Tygyn as a leader of the Sakha tribes
has a wide historiography. Correlating the folklore materials with the written
documents, one can trace the time and conditions of formation of the Sakha sovereign’s
folklore type.

Öz
В статье изучается проблема существования потестарной культуры среди саха
в дорусский период. Миф о Тыгыне как предводителе якутских племен имеет
широкую историографию. Из соотнесения фольклорных материалов с
письменными документами можно проследить время и условия формирования
фольклорного образа якутского владыки.
