Evaluation of School Compliance Levels and Readiness for School of Freshmen’s Who Are Affected from Intermittent Mandatory Training

Öz

The purpose of this research is to analyze the school compliance and school readiness level of students who are claimed to drop back with the new application, known as the 4+4+4 education system and also reveal if there is difference between them with regard to some demographic factors. Research was designed in survey model. The study samples were formed with 18 class teachers, who were selected with snowball sampling technique and 440 of their 1st grade students in Buca in Izmir in 2012-2013 academic year. School Compliance Teacher Rating Scale” and “School Readiness Teacher Rating Scale” were used in collecting the data. According to research findings; while there was no significant difference on adaptation to school and ready to school presence according to gender variable of first class elemantary school students, significant difference in favor of who went to pre-school and being older (72 months and more to 60-65 months and 66-71 months; 72 months and more to 66-71 months and 60-65 months) were found on adaptation to school and ready to school presence according to variables of age and taking pre-school education were found. These research findings are expected to create a thinking based data and debate on the issues that were claimed within the new system.
