The Investigation of the Effects of Mobile Learning Management System on Academic Success and Attitudes of Learners

In this research, a mobile learning management system (MOYS) was designed
by using the Moodle. The effect of the designed (MOYS) page on students’ academic
achievement and attitudes were measured, for this purpose. The nine week study was
conducted with the students at Faculty of Education of Siirt University. The pre and
post-test researceh design with control group in experimental research was used in
the study. A total of 90 students participated in the study in which test and control groups were kept in equal numbers. Academic achievement test and mobile learning
attitude scale were used as data collection tools. While no significiance difference was
found in the academic achievement pre-test scores obtained as a result of research
analysis between the experimental and control groups, significant differences were
observed in the values of the post- test. Only in the mobile learning attitude scale
applied to the experimental group a positive attitude emerged in the pre and post-test
results. In new mobil learning environments to be arranged, learning performances
of learners could be enhanced by offering them different learning contents based
on their individual interests and needs.
