Effect On Student Achievement Of Teaching Algebraic Equations With Worksheets
Öz
The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of constructivist teaching on students’
success in teaching algebraic equations in the seventh grade mathematics class of primary
education in teaching with appropriately prepared worksheets. In the study, full experimental
research method with pretest-posttest control group was applied. The research was conducted
with the students in the seventh grade of a primary school in the province of Pasinler, Erzurum,
affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the second term of 2011-2012 academic year.
The achievement test, prepared before the start of the study period, was applied as a pre-test
to the experimental and control groups. For the experimental group, the teaching process with
working leaves lasted 12 hours in 3 weeks. At the end of the training period, the achievement
test was re-applied as a post-test in both groups. The findings of the research show that the
training with the worksheets enhances the achievement visibly.
