The Concept Of “The Structure In Simple Sentences” with Hermann Paul
Abstract
Language is a living entity that has own rules and can develop only in these rules. These rules
and forms that settled in the language structure during the time is called grammar. The sentence
constitutes a very small part of series of these rules and can be defined as a completed means of
speech that is composed of at least two elements.
In this work, the simple sentence structures are handled in basic terms. In order to make the
concept of sentence more understandable, the questions such as what the linguistic is, which
linguistic structures are handled in the linguistic scope and which position the concept of
sentence is in these linguistic structures, are evaluated. Then the definition, functions and items
of the sentence are discussed in the light of Hermann Paul’s studies.
