A Social Movement Based on Values Following February the 6th: Hatay Gönül Mutfağı

Öz

This study conceptualizes the Gönül Mutfağı Movement, which is a voluntary initiative that emerged with the 6 February earthquakes, as a value-oriented social movement. Based on this assumption, how the Gönül Mutfağı Movement constructs 'collective consciousness' through spiritual values such as solidarity and volunteerism forms the basis of this study. In this framework, within the scope of the study, the Instagram posts of the movement between 6 February 2023 and 6 February 2024 were examined by Content Analysis and Thematic Analysis techniques, and the data were analysed with MaxQDA software. According to the results of the analysis, three themes were identified as 'unity and solidarity', 'cuisine' and 'culture', and codes such as 'the sense of Us', 'Hope', 'Nationalism', 'Kemalism', 'Public Support', 'Food/Cooking', 'Hearth/Home', 'Women', 'Volunteerism', 'Solidarity', 'Belief', 'Condolence' were created under these themes.
The research reveals that the Gönül Mutfağı Movement offers an effective model that encourages 'social solidarity' and 'collective consciousness' in extraordinary circumstances such as earthquakes. With this model, the study reveals that the movement establishes collective bonds through values such as nationalism, Kemalism, and the unity through War of Independence by channelizing historical and social memory. Thus the movement is based on 'volunteerism', brings together different social groups and individuals and can produce earthquake relief solutions in times of crisis with its natural and flexible organisational structure. The findings show that the Gönül Mutfağı Movement makes significant contributions to social integration through common social values.

6 Şubat Depremleri Sonrası “Değer” Yönelimli Bir Toplumsal Hareket: “Hatay Gönül Mutfağı”

Öz

Bu çalışma, gönüllü bir girişim olan ve 6 Şubat depremleri ile doğan Gönül Mutfağı Hareketi’ni değer yönelimli toplumsal hareket olarak kabul etmektedir. Bu kabulden yola çıkarak Gönül Mutfağı Hareketi’nin yardımlaşma ve gönüllülük gibi manevi değerler üzerinden kolektif bilinci nasıl inşa ettiği bu çalışmanın temelini oluşturmaktadır. Bu çerçevede çalışmada, hareketin 6 Şubat 2023-6 Şubat 2024 tarihleri arasındaki Instagram gönderileri içerik analizi ve tematik analiz yöntemleriyle incelenmiş ve veriler MaxQDA programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler sonucunda, birlik ve beraberlik, mutfak ve kültür olmak üzere üç tema belirlenmiş, bu temaların altında biz duygusu, umut, milliyetçilik, Atatürkçülük, kamu desteği, yemek/aş, ocak/ev, kadın, gönüllülük, yardımlaşma, inanç, taziye gibi alt kodlar oluşturulmuştur.
Araştırma, Gönül Mutfağı Hareketi’nin deprem gibi olağanüstü durumlarda toplumsal dayanışmayı ve kolektif bilinci teşvik eden etkili bir model sunduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Bu model ile hareketin, tarihi ve toplumsal hafızadan beslenerek milliyetçilik, Atatürkçülük ve Kurtuluş Savaşı gibi değerler aracılığıyla kolektif bağ kurduğu görülmektedir. Hareketin temelinin “gönüllülüğe” dayandığı, farklı toplumsal grup ve bireyleri bir araya getirirken aynı zamanda doğal ve esnek organizasyon yapısıyla kriz dönemlerinde etkili çözüm üretme kapasitesine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, Gönül Mutfağı Hareketi’nin ortak toplumsal değerler üzerinden toplumsal bütünleşmeye önemli katkılar sunduğunu göstermektedir.
