GÜNEY KORE’DE KADINLARIN EKONOMİK, SİYASAL VE TOPLUMSAL DURUMU: TARİHSEL SÜREÇTEN GÜNCEL KAZANIMLARA

Öz

Bu çalışma, Güney Kore’de kadınların ekonomik, siyasal ve toplumsal durumunu tarihsel bir perspektifle inceleyerek, feminist hareketin gelişimini ve güncel kazanımlarını analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Türkçe literatürde Güney Kore’de kadın hareketi ve feminizmi üzerine toplu, çok boyutlu bir analiz sunan çalışmaların sınırlı olması nedeniyle bu çalışma akademik katkı olarak öne çıkabilir. Makale, öncelikle ekonomik, siyasal ve sosyal alanlarda kadınların maruz kaldığı eşitsizlikleri ayrıntılı şekilde değerlendirmekte; ardından feminist hareketin tarihsel seyrini ve kronolojik gelişimini tartışmaktadır. Ayrıca, kadın örgütlerinin ve feministlerin mücadelesi sonucu elde edilen kurumsal ve normatif kazanımlar ile bu kazanımların sürdürülebilirliğini etkileyen toplumsal dirençler ele alınmaktadır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yaklaşımı çerçevesinde yazılı kaynakların sistematik incelenmesine dayalı olarak yürütülmüş; elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz tekniğiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular, Güney Kore’de feminist kazanımların yerleşik ataerkil normlar, anti-feminist söylemler ve muhafazakâr direnç nedeniyle sürekli bir mücadele gerektirdiğini göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, çalışma, kadın haklarının korunması ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanması için tarihsel, kurumsal ve toplumsal dinamiklerin birlikte değerlendirilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır.

THE ECONOMIC, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL STATUS OF WOMEN IN SOUTH KOREA: FROM THE HISTORICAL PROCESS TO CURRENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Öz

This study aims to analyze the development of the feminist movement and its current achievements by examining the economic, political and social status of women in South Korea from a historical perspective. Given the limited number of studies in Turkish literature that offer a comprehensive, multidimensional analysis of the women's movement and feminism in South Korea, this study stands out as an academic contribution. The article first evaluates in detail the inequalities women face in the economic, political, and social spheres; it then discusses the historical trajectory and chronological development of the feminist movement. Furthermore, it addresses the institutional and normative gains achieved as a result of the struggle of women's organizations and feminists, as well as the social resistance affecting the sustainability of these gains. The study employed a qualitative research approach based on the systematic examination of written sources, and the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The findings show that feminist gains in South Korea require constant struggle due to entrenched patriarchal norms, anti-feminist discourses, and conservative resistance. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the importance of evaluating historical, institutional, and social dynamics together to protect women's rights and achieve gender equality.
