Every author making a submission to Kocaeli Journal of Science and Engineering (KOJOSE) is supposed to have accepted the following principles:

- If a submitted manuscript is found appropriate for the KOJOSE by the Editorial Office, it is then scanned by the similarity (plagiarism) software comparing it with previously published material and web content. As a result of this process, the similarity ratio of the manuscript excluding the References section is determined.

- The similarity ratio of the submitted manuscript should be less than or equal to 15%. Furthermore, the similarity between the submitted manuscript and any previous specific publication should be equal or less than 3%. If these two conditions are met, the evaluation process of the paper is initiated.
