İlk ve orta eğitimi Kütahya, lise eğitimini ise Eskişehir’de tamamladıktan sonra Lisans eğitimini 1984-1988 yıllarında Selçuk Üniversitesi Mühendislik-Mimarlık Fakültesi İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümünde tamamlamıştır. Mezun olduktan sonra 1992 yılına kadar kamu kurumunda İnşaat Mühendisi olarak görev yaptıktan sonra 1992 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümünde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak göreve başladı. Yüksek Lisans eğitimini 1994-1997 yılları arasında ODTÜ Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü İnşaat Mühendisliği Programında tamamladı. Doktora eğitimini ise 1998-2005 yılları arasında Selçuk Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü İnşaat Mühendisliği programında tamamladıktan sonra 2004 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümüne Yrd. Doç. Dr. olarak atandı. 2015 yılında Doçent Unvanını aldı. 2022 yılından itibaren Profesör kadrosunda görev yapmaktadır. 2015-2016 yıllarında Selçuk Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Dekan Yardımcısı, 2019-2022 yıllarında Konya Teknik Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölüm Başkan Yardımcı olarak görev yaptı. 2022 yılından beri Konya Teknik Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi Dekanlığı görevini de sürdürmektedir. Danışmanlığında tamamlanmış 2 doktora ve 12 Yüksek Lisans tezi ile birlikte çok sayıda ulusal ve uluslararası makale, sözlü ve poster bildirisi ile tamamlanmış 2 TÜBİTAK ve 3 BAP Projesi bulunmaktadır.

Prof. Dr. Musa Hakan ARSLAN was born in Konya in 1977. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 1998 and 2000, respectively, and at ITU Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering. Between 1998 and 2003, Arslan worked in the private sector as a project engineer, and in 2003 he began his academic career at Selçuk University. After completing his Ph.D. at Selçuk University in 2007, he served as Assistant Professor between 2007–2010, Associate Professor between 2011–2016, and has been a full Professor since 2016.
As of 2026, Arslan has published over 110 articles in journals indexed in SCI, has nearly 4,100 citations recorded in Google Citation, and holds 5 patents. His research focuses on reinforced concrete structures, earthquake performance, strengthening methods, prefabricated structures, and applications of artificial intelligence in structural engineering. He has supervised nearly 30 completed graduate theses, including 5 doctoral dissertations.
Associate Editors
I am an Associate Professor in Geological Engineering at Konya Technical University, with research interests in rock and soil mechanics, as well as engineering geology. My work focuses on the mechanical behavior of heterogeneous geomaterials, particularly bimrocks (block-in-matrix rocks) and soil–rock mixtures, with an emphasis on fractal characterization, fracture processes, and energy-based approaches.
I have also conducted research on the swelling behavior of clays, the geomechanical properties of volcanic soils, and the stability of excavation slopes. These studies aim to better understand material variability, time-dependent deformation, and their implications for geotechnical design and engineering practice.
My research integrates experimental testing, digital image analysis, and numerical modeling to investigate complex geomaterial behavior. Through my work, I aim to contribute to more reliable characterization approaches and to bridge the gap between laboratory findings and real-world engineering applications.
Dr. Dogan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Selcuk University in 2010. During his graduate studies, he was affiliated with the University of Bath, and he later conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research interests include computational methods in fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, computational fluid dynamics, experimental methods in fluid flow and heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermal engineering, and turbulent flows.

She graduated from the Geomatics Engineering undergraduate program at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2018. She completed her Master’s degree in Geomatics Engineering at Konya Technical University (KTUN) in 2022. She is currently a PhD student and research assistant in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Konya Technical University. Her research interests include geodesy, the ionosphere, GNSS, and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite orbit determination.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulkerim Okbaz received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Selçuk University in 2009 and 2012, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University between 2013 and 2018, where he also served as a Research Assistant. From 2018 to 2019, he worked as a Software Development Engineer at the R&D Center of Friterm A.Ş. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Doğuş University as an Assistant Professor in 2019 and was appointed as an Associate Professor in 2024. Between 2023 and 2024, he conducted research in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2026, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, at Yıldız Technical University as an Associate Professor.
His research interests include fluid mechanics, heat transfer, HVAC systems, renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, heat recovery systems, pump systems, experimental flow measurement, numerical modeling, artificial intelligence, optimization methods for thermal-fluid engineering applications, energy harvesting, and nanogenerators.
He serves on the editorial boards of several international journals, including International Journal of Energy Research, Scientific Reports, Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Discover Energy, Discover Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Thermal Engineering, and Konya Journal of Engineering Sciences.
Betül Uzbaş received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Selçuk University, Konya, Türkiye, in 2010, 2012, and 2017, respectively. Her major field of study was data mining and machine learning.
She has been an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Engineering, Konya Technical University, Konya, Türkiye, since 2018. Previously, she was a Research Assistant with Selçuk University. Her research and teaching activities focus on data mining, machine learning, ensemble learning methods, pattern recognition, and artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on classification algorithms, and data-driven modeling.
Burhaneddin Bilgen received his MsC degree from the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Selçuk University in 2017, and his Ph.D. from the same department of Konya Technical University in 2022. He is an Assistant Professor at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Academy of Land Registry and Cadastre since 2024. His study fields are advanced GNSS technologies, precise point positioning, deformation monitoring and computer programming. His current research mainly focuses on GNSS PPP-AR and ionospheric modeling.
Cihangir Köyceğiz received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Konya Technical University in 2022. In the fields of water resources, hydraulics, and hydrology, he keeps up his researches.
Farabi Temel graduated from Ege University, Department of Chemical Engineering in 2011. He received his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Chemical Engineering from Selçuk University, Institute of Science in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Konya Technical University. His current areas of interest include the synthesis of calixarenes, supramolecular chemistry, gas and biological sensors, QCM sensors, and adsorption applications.
Kemal Erdoğan, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Professional Profile Dr. Erdoğan is an Assistant Professor at Konya Technical University, where he has been a faculty member since 2020. His expertise lies at the intersection of automation, software development, and advanced visualization technologies. 1976 yılında İzmir’de doğdu. İlkokulu İzmir’de bitirdikten sonra ortaokul ve liseyi Ankara’da bitirip 1994 yılında Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Maden Mühendisliği Bölümünü kazandı. 1998 yılında Lisans eğitimini tamamlayıp aynı yıl Yüksek lisans eğitimine başladı. 2000 yılında DEÜ Mühendislik Fakültesi Maden Mühendisliği Bölümü Maden Mekanizasyonu ve Teknolojisi ABD’na Araştırma Görevlisi olarak atandı. 2001 yılında Yüksek Lisansını tamamlayıp Doktora eğitimine başladı. 2007 yılında doktorasını tamamlayan Özfırat 2009 yılında Maden Mekanizasyonu ve Teknolojisi ABD’na Yrd. Doç. Dr. olarak atanmıştır. 2013 yılında Doçent ünvanını almıştır. 2023 yılında Maden Mekanizasyonu ve Teknolojisi ABD’na Prof. Dr. olarak atanmıştır. Halen DEÜ maden Mühendisliği Bölümü, Maden Mekanizasyonu ve Teknolojisi Ana Bilim Dalında Prof. Dr. olarak görevini sürdürmektedir. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Kemal Özfırat'ın çeşitli dergilerde 43 adet makalesi, sunulmuş 71 adet sempozyum ve kongre bildiri çalışması, 3 adet kitap, 3 adet kitap içi bölüm, 33 adet projesi bulunmaktadır. Evli, Ege ve Nehir isimlerinde iki çocuk babasıdır.
He completed his undergraduate education at Istanbul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Geological Engineering, and his graduate education at Niğde University, Institute of Science, Department of Geological Engineering in 1998. He completed his doctoral education at Istanbul University, Institute of Science, Department of Geological Engineering in 2004, with his thesis on the evaluation of basalts from the Niğde region as alternative aggregates. Since 2008, he has focused on stone deterioration in historical structures.
Prof. Dr. Niyazi Bilim (born 1975) completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Sivas, Türkiye. He received his B.Sc. degree in Mining Engineering from Cumhuriyet University in 1996. Bilim began his academic career in 1999 as a research assistant in the Department of Mining Engineering at Selçuk University, where he also obtained his M.Sc. degree in 2002 and his Ph.D. in 2007. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 2011, promoted to Associate Professor in 2012, and has held the title of Full Professor since 2017. Bilim has authored more than 80 national and international publications, which have received numerous citations. He has also been involved in 11 research projects. In addition to his academic work, Bilim has undertaken various administrative roles within the university.
He graduated from Selçuk University, Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering, in 2009. He completed his Master’s degree at Selçuk University in 2013 and received his PhD from Konya Technical University in 2018.
He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geomatic Engineering at Konya Technical University in 2021 and has been serving as an Associate Professor at the same university since 2023. His areas of expertise include GNSS, Noise Analysis, Deformation Analysis, EDM Calibration, Programming, and Artificial Neural Networks.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Dolu currently works in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Konya Technical University, Türkiye.
Dr. Dolu has a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Marmara University, Türkiye in 2013.

Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Şahin ATAŞ is a faculty member in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Konya Technical University. He earned his B.Sc. in Physics from Aksaray University (2012), followed by an M.Sc. (2017) and a Ph.D. (2021) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Konya Technical University.
His research specializes in the advanced manufacturing and characterization of superalloys, ceramics, and composite materials. He has significant expertise in metal production techniques, including casting and arc melting for the development of high-temperature alloys. His recent work focuses on radiation behavior, gamma radiation shielding, and the elastic properties of Al-based alloys and composites. Additionally, he has extensive experience in flash sintering, powder metallurgy, and the analysis of oxidation behavior in Ni, Co, and Fe-based systems. Dr. Ataş currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Department.
Ayse E. Canbilen received the Ph.D. degree from Konya Technical University in 2019. From 2013 to 2018, she was a research assistant with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey. From 2017 to 2018, she was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada, as a Visitor Researcher. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Konya Technical University, Konya, Turkey. Her primary research interests include beyond 5G systems, spatial modulation techniques, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, visible light communications and non-terrestrial networks.
Dr. Çetinkaya is an academic in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Her research interests include advanced ceramics, flash sintering, nanomaterials, electrospinning-based fiber production, and functional composites. She focuses on electric field-assisted sintering and microstructure–property relationships in oxide ceramic systems.
She completed her postdoctoral research at University of Colorado Boulder (USA), where she worked on reactive and touch-free flash sintering.
She has published several papers in international journals and is actively involved in national and international research projects.

Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Ozturk currently works as Chairman of the Board at TOMTAŞ Aerospace and Technology Inc., Kahramanmaraş Aerospace Industries Inc., Executive Vice President at Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc., and as a faculty member in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University.
Professor Ozturk received all his degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and graduated from Konya Selçuk University, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1992. He then received his M.Sc. from the University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA in 1996 and his Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA in 2002. During his time in the USA, he worked at the General Electric Research Center for 3 years.
As Head of Aerostructures at TAI, he is responsible for the production of all original and commercial projects of the company. He manages a qualified team of approximately 5000 people, including 1200 engineers and 3800 blue collar workers. In addition to projects that make Turkey proud, such as the Turkish Fighter Aircraft KAAN, Hürjet and Atak 2, it continues to contribute to the "Turkey Century" goals by leading teams that successfully carry out part and component production processes for global aviation industry companies such as Airbus, Boeing and Sikorsky. He has more than 30 years of experience in academia, industry and management.
Prior to Turkish Aerospace Industries, Professor Fahrettin Ozturk worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (formerly Niğde University), Khalifa University (formerly The Petroleum Institute (PI)). Moreover, he also worked simultaneously at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Dr. Ozturk's main areas of expertise are; Additive Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technologies, Mechanics of Solid Bodies, Composite Materials, Construction and Manufacturing, Machine Design and Machine Elements, Material Characterization, Material Design and Behavior, Materials and Manufacturing, Finite Element Analysis, and Machining. Spase Shumka is a lecturer of Hydrobiology and Biology at the Agricultural University of Tirana. He is educated biologist and become full professor in 2008, while his main field of dedication is aquatic ecology, biotic interrelationship in aquatic ecosystems, fish ecology and molecular biology. He has been engaged in several national and international projects focused on lakes, rivers and transitional water bodies, showing good achievements in river ecology and conservation needs. He is author or co-author of more than 130 scientific publications and five Springer monographs. He was actively involved in the PPNEA leadership contributing thus in nature conservation and education. Spase Shumka is a post-doc fellow of UC Berkeley USA, while speeded advancements time in several scientific institution out of Albania as in France, Norway, Irland, Greece, etc.

Prof. Karakus holds a BSc in Mining Engineering (1991) from Hacettepe University, Turkey, and a PhD in Mining and Minerals Engineering (2000) from the University of Leeds, UK. He is an adjunct chair Professor at the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan and is currently working at the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide. Prof. Karakus established the Cave Mining Research Centre at the University of Adelaide, where he and his team investigate various aspects of cave mining, including rockburst, mud-inrush and rock support designs for high-temperature rock mass environments. He is the Chief Investigator for $10 million in funded research and industry projects. He is also the CI-Key in the Australian Research Council Training Centre (ARC-ITTC) on sustainable ore extraction technologies using innovative composite materials and smart mining systems, leveraging machine learning.
In 2023, Prof. Karakus's exceptional contributions to the field of Mining and Minerals Resources were recognised when he was named the top national researcher in Australia. He leads a dynamic research group, which includes two professors, three associate professors, two senior lecturers, three post-doctoral researchers, and ten PhD students. This multidisciplinary team collaborates with the Australian Institute of Machine Learning, Mining, Petroleum, Chemical, and Civil Engineering. Prof. Karakus has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, further solidifying his international recognition.
Prof. Karakus is a member of the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) Commission on Rockburst, the ISRM Commission on Deep Mining, and the International Committee for Mine Safety Science and Engineering (ICMSSE). He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences and Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering.
Dr. Selim Doğan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Konya Technical University. His research interests focus on environmental issues such as drought analysis, climate change, sustainable environmental management, and the reuse of wastewater. His work particularly addresses the management of water resources and environmental sustainability. Dr. Doğan investigates the impacts of climate change on the environment and water resources, contributing to the development of sustainable solutions. He also conducts research on promoting environmentally friendly technologies, such as wastewater recycling and reuse. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Doğan has participated in various national and international projects and has published numerous scientific papers in leading journals on topics related to environmental engineering.
