INTERPRETATIVE APPROACH AND WRITING ON MUSIC

Öz

This essay suggests an interpretational approach and the concept of self-reflectivity upon

the academic wording style in the Turkish music sciences. The general purpose of the

writing is to exhibit a critical attitude concerning the studies, which could not exceed the

literature scanning and compilations, which always make repetitions in the researches

and original articles which are published in the music-centered academic magazines and

thesis. It is obviously seen that the researchers take the language of approach, which

makes the subject and the structural wording style as an object and which is present in

Turkey Social Science literature as an example. On the contrary, in the music concept,

conceptualization of the abstract makes the author tired and causes them to be lost within

the knowledge. In this respect, the original sign of all kinds of musical researches and

studies, which are historical, systematic or ethnographical centered, is the action of

writing and to get away from saying new words in the present cycle of writing. Such

self-reflectivity and interpretational approach could be a tool set, which could eliminate

and remove such stability. Because of this reason, it is targeted to be taken up in order to

consider music writing as an interpretation and to change the perception of writing and

to make a great contribution to the literature and finally, to tell a new word and to give

inspirations to the academic persons as well.

YORUMSAMACI YAKLAŞIM VE MÜZİĞİ YAZMAK ÜZERİNE

Öz

Bu deneme, Türkiye müzik bilimlerinde, akademik yazın biçimi üzerine yorumsamacı

yaklaşım ve özdüşünümsellik kavramını önermektedir. Yazının genel amacı, müzik

merkezli akademik dergilerde yayımlanan araştırma ve özgün makalelerdeki sürekli

tekrara düşen, literatür taraması ve derlemenin ötesine geçmeyen çalışmalara ilişkin

eleştirel bir tutum sergilemektir. Araştırmacıların, Türkiye Sosyal Bilim literatüründe

varolan, yapısal yazım biçimi ve konuyu nesnelleştiren yaklaşım dilini örnek aldıkları

görülmektedir. Buna karşın, müzik mefhumunda, soyutun kavramsallaştırılması,

yazarı yormakta ve bilginin içerisinde kaybolmasına neden olmaktadır. Bu bağlamda,

tarihsel, sistematik ya da etnografi merkezli her türlü müzik araştırmasının alamet-i

farikası olan yazmak eylemi, içinde bulunduğu yazın döngüsünde, yeni söz söylemekten

uzaklaşmaktadır. Özdüşünümsellik ve yorumsamacı yaklaşım, bu durağanlığı

kaldırabilecek bir alet çantası olabilir. Bu sebeple bu denemenin, müziği yazmayı bir

yorum olarak ele alıp, yazın algısını değiştirerek, literatüre katkı sağlayacak, son tahlilde,

yeni bir söz söyleyecek akademik kalemlere ilham vermesi hedeflenmektedir.
