A Study on Psychological Autopsy An Evaluation of Sıxteen Suicides, Cases

Abstract

Objective: Suıcıdal behavıor and suıcıdal deaths are examıned by psychıatry psychology and socıology Reasons îor suıcıdal behavıor are examıned in two ways Epıdemıologıcal method and psychological autopsy İn thıs study we aımed to examıne suıcıdal deaths in a cıty in an 18 month perıod and reasons whıch dragged these people to suıcıde Method: Hospıtal and poliçe records of 16 people who dıed because suıcıde in Adıyaman in years 2000 and fırst 6 months of 2001 were examıned Semıstructured famıly ıntervıevvs were conducted in famılıes of the deceased Results: 9 of the subjects were female, 7 of them were male and mean age was 25 5 Four of the subjects were hıgh school graduates and the remaınders eıther no educatıon or graduated from prımary school Most of the subjects were sıngle (10 subjects), and had no occupatıon (9 subjects) Only one subject had a job wıth regular ıncome VVhıle hangıng was the most common way used to commıt suıcıde (10 subjects), guns, şelf poısonıng and jumpıng from hıgh places follovved thıs Conclusion: These suicides were in young populatıon and ali subjects had more then one problem to cope wıth 6 of the subjects had physıcal problems and 6 of them had symptoms resemblıng depressıon

ONALTI İNTİHAR OLGUSUNUN PSİKOLOJİK OTOPSİ YÖNTEMİ İLE DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Öz

Amaç: İntihar davranışı ve intiharla olum, psikiyatrı, psikoloji, sosyoloji gibi çeşitli bilim dalları tarafından ele alınan, çok boyutlu bir olgudur İntihar davranışınının nedenleri ıkı yöntemle araştırılır Epıdemıyolojık yöntem ve psikolojik otopsi Bu çalışmada amaç bir il hudutları içinde 18 ayda gerçekleşen intiharların psikolojik otopsi yöntemiyle değerlendirilmesi ve bireylen intihara götüren nedenlerin araştırılmasıdır Yöntem: Adıyaman ilinde 2000 yılında ve 2001 yılının ilk altı ayında gerçekleşen 16 intihar olgusna ilişkin bilgiler yarı yapılandırılmış aile görüşmesi, polis ve hastane kayıtları aracılığı ile elde edildi ve değerlendirildi Bulgular: 16 olgunun 7'sı erkek 9'u kadın olup, yaş ortalaması 25 5'dır Eğitim düzeyleri en fazla lise (4 olgu) olup, diğerleri eğitimsizdir veya ilkokul düzeyindedir Olguların buyuk bolumu (10 olgu) evli değildir ve çalışmamaktadır (9 olgu) Sadece bir olgunun düzenli gelir getiren bir ışı vardır En çok ası yöntemi (10 olgu) kullanılmış olup, diğerleri sırasıyla ateşli silah zehirlenme ve yüksekten atlamadır Sonuç ve Tartışma: İntiharlar genç nüfusta gerçekleşmiş olup, tum olguların birden fazla sorunla baş etmek durumunda oldukları saptanmıştır 6 olguda çeşitli bedensel sorunlar ve 6 olguda depresyonu düşündüren bulgular soz konusudur Olgularda çevrenin konuya duyarsız ve depresyon belirtileri ile tedavi konusunda bilgisiz oluşu dikkati çekmektedir
