THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DESIRE TO HAVE A CHILD AND FEAR OF CHILDBIRTH BEFORE PREGNANCY IN WOMEN

Öz

Objective: The research was conducted to the relationship between fertility desire and childbirth fear prior to pregnancy determine the relationship between.

Materials and Method: The study was descriptive and correlational and was conducted between 15.01.2024 and 15.05.2024 with 340 women who were married and had at least three years since their last pregnancy or who had never had a pregnancy. The data of the study were collected by using the Personal Information Form, Women's Desire to Have Children Scale and Preconception Fear of Childbirth Scale.

Results: The mean total score of women's Having Children Scale is 54.00±6.98 and The mean total score of the Fear of Childbirth Before Pregnancy Scale was 33.84±11.33. A significant positive correlation was found between the Desire to Have a Child Scale score and the Fear of Childbirth Before Pregnancy Scale score.

Conclusion: In the study, a relationship was found between women's desire to have children and fear of childbirth before pregnancy. Health professionals should address individuals who want to have a child in terms of fear of childbirth in the preconceptional period.

Kadınlarda Çocuk Sahibi Olma İsteğinin Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu İle İlişkisi

Öz

Amaç: Araştırma, kadın bireylerde, çocuk sahibi olma isteğinin gebelik öncesi doğum korkusu ile ilişkisini belirlemek için yapılmıştır.

Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma, tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı tipte olup, 15.01.2024-15.05.2024 tarihleri arasında evli ve son gebeliğinin üzerinden en az üç yıl geçmiş ya da hiç gebelik yaşamamış 340 kadın ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Kadınlarda Çocuk Sahibi Olma İsteği Ölçeği ve Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır.

Bulgular: Kadınların Çocuk Sahibi Ölçek toplam puan ortalamalarının 54,00±6,98 ve Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu Ölçek toplam puan ortalamalarının 33,84±11,33 olduğu saptanmıştır. Kadınlarda Çocuk Sahibi Olma İsteği Ölçek puanı ile Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu Ölçek puanı arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir.

Sonuç: Çalışmada kadınlarda çocuk sahibi olma isteği ile gebelik öncesi doğum korkusu arasında ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Sağlık profesyonellerinin çocuk sahibi olmak isteyen bireyleri prekonsepsiyonel dönemde doğum korkusu açısından ele alması gerekmektedir.
