Öz

Antropolojinin ortaya çıkışını sömürgeci dönemle ilişkilendiren Fransız antropolog Marc Auge, tarih ile antropolojiyi ilişkisel bir bağlamda sunmaktadır. Auge, bu sömürgeleşme ile tarihsel dönem sonrası yaşanan dinsel veya siyasal olayların, bizleri, oluşan “yeni evren” zorluklarını ve niteliklerini açıklama konusunda bir dünya görüşü oluşturmaya ittiğini vurgulamaktadır. Geleneksel olarak adlandırılan veya sömürgeleştirilmiş, en genel anlamıyla modern öncesi toplumların, öteki ile olan ilişkisinin ortaya koyduğu ben düşüncesini ifade eden kimlik/özdeşlik ve ötekilik bunalımı bizi; teknolojinin gelişmesine bağlı olarak görüntülerin yayılması ve dünyanın küçülmesi yargısı ile tarihin hızlanması sonucuna doğru götürmektedir. Çağdaş Dünyaların Antropolojisi adlı eserinde Auge, ötekilik ile kurulan ilişki çerçevesinde geliştirilen kimliklerin çoğalmasıyla gelişen yeni dünyaların antropologlara yeni bir nesne sunduğuna ve bunun beraberinde gelen yöntembilimsel sorunlara dikkat çekmektedir. Çağdaş dünyanın bireye sunduğu bulanık ve karmaşık gösteri ortamında antropologların uğraşı, bu çağdaşlığı oluşturan birleşme hareketini açıklamak olmuştur. Bu çalışma da bahsettiğimiz sorunsalı, Auge’nin Çağdaş Dünyaların Antropolojisi eserinde değindiği yönüyle ele almaktadır. İçeriği beş bölümden oluşan bu eser günümüzü açıklarken, antropoloji bilimini de ilkel toplumları inceleyen bir bilim olduğu algısının çok ötesine taşımaktadır.

Antropology of Contemporary Worlds

Öz

French anthropologist Marc Auge, who links the emergence of anthropology to the colonial period, presents history and anthropology in a relational context. Auge emphasizes that religious or political events experienced after this historical period such as colonization push us to form a worldview in order to explain the difficulties and characteristics of the new universe that has emerged. The crisis of identity and otherness, which expresses the I-idea revealed by the relationship between the so-called traditional or colonized, in the most general sense, pre-modern societies and the other, leads us to the conclusion that history is accelerating with the judgment that images are spreading and the world is shrinking due to the development of technology. In Anthropology of Contemporary Worlds, Auge draws attention to the fact that new worlds that develop with the proliferation of identities developed within the framework of the relationship established with otherness present a new object to anthropologists and the methodological problems that come with this. In the blurred and complex spectacle environment that the contemporary world presents to the individual, the anthropologists’ endeavor has been to explain the unifying movement that constitutes this contemporaneity. This study also addresses the problematic we are talking about from the perspective that Auge touched upon in his work Anthropology of Contemporary Worlds. This work, which consists of five chapters, explains our present day, where different worlds share the same era, while also taking the science of anthropology far beyond the perception that it is a science that studies primitive societies.
