Kafes ve Alternatif Sistemlerde Yumurtacı Tavukların Refahı

Öz

Son yıllarda konvansiyonel kafeslerde barındırılan tavukların fizyolojik ve davranımsal gereksinimlerini karşılayamadığı bilimsel olarak ortaya konmuştur. Tavukların refahını sağlamak çiftlik sahiplerinin sorumluluğundadır ve bu uygun barındırma, yönetim, besleme ve hastalıklardan koruma ve tedaviyi de içeren hayvanın iyi halde olmasını sağlanmasıdır. Yumurta tavukları için alternatif sistemler üreticilerin ekonomik verimlilik gibi talepleri ile tavukların ihtiyaçları ve refahını sağlayacak şekilde tasarlanmaktadır. Alternatif sistemlerde tavuklar birçok doğal davranış tipini sergileyebilmekte ve yeterli eksersiz yapabilmektedir ancak bu ortamlarda başlıca zorluklar ayak problemleri, gagalama, sosyal stres ve kitli ve kırık yumurtalardır. Bu derlemede barındırma sırasında tavuk refahını düşüren bu sorunların çözümüne yönelik araştırmaların sonuçları ve alternatif sistemlerin tavuk refahına etkileri özetlenmiştir
