Çağdaş Etik Tartışmalarına Bir Katkı: Simon Critchley’in Etik Deneyim Teorisi

How does one live a good life? What makes life good or worthwhile for a person? Since ancient times, philosophers have dealt with such problems and made explanations about how human beings are valuable beings and how happiness can be achieved. Of course, this quest is valuable not only for philosophers but also for every individual who desires a happy life. In addition, such questions are of course more important in this age where truth and values are lost one by one and even the best feel a lack of motivation. In this context, we would like to examine this moral state and the idea of good life, which we briefly mentioned in our research, around the thoughts of Critchley on ethical experience, who analyzes the disappointments peculiar to the age and the limitations of the contemporary subject. However, determining the conceptual framework of his moral philosophy, and in this sense, evaluating what the concepts of “endless demand” and “attachment” can achieve during the detection and treatment of the contemporary moral crisis are the other aims of this study.

Bir hayat nasıl iyi yaşanır? Bir kişi için hayatı iyi ya da değerli kılan şey(ler) nedir? İlkçağdan itibaren filozoflar bu tür sorunlarla ilgilenmiş, insanın değerli bir varlık olduğuna ve mutluluğun nasıl elde edebileceğine yönelik açıklamalarda bulunmuşlardır. Tabii ki bu arayış yalnızca filozoflar için değil mutlu bir hayatı arzu eden her bir birey için değerlidir. Ayrıca hakikatin ve değerlerin bir bir yitirilmiş olduğu, en iyilerin dahi motivasyon eksikliği hissettiği bir çağda bu tür sorular elbette daha önemlidir. Bu bağlamda biz de araştırmamızda kısaca sözünü ettiğimiz bu moral durumu ve iyi yaşam düşüncesini çağa özgü hayal kırıklıklarından, çağdaş öznenin sınırlılıklarından hareket ederek analiz eden Critchley’in etik deneyime yönelik düşünceleri etrafında irdelemek istemekteyiz. Bununla birlikte onun ahlâk felsefesinin kavramsal çerçevesini belirlemek, bu anlamda “sonsuz talep” ve “bağlanma” kavramlarının çağdaş moral krizin tespiti ve tedavi edilmesi sırasında neler becerebileceğini değerlendirmek bu çalışmanın diğer amaçlarıdır.
