Laclau’da Popülist Mantığın Antagonisttik Temelleri Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Öz

Ernesto Laclau günümüzde sosyal bilimler dünyasında üstüne en çok düşünülen ve çalışma yapılan teorisyenlerden birisidir. Özellikle eşi ve yakın çalışma arkadaşı Chantal Mouffe ile birlikte kaleme aldıkları “Hegemonya ve Sosyalist Strateji” adlı çalışmalarında geliştirdikleri hegemonya kavramı ve sonrasında Laclau’nun mercek altına aldığı “Popülist Mantık” bu ilginin en önemli nedenlerinden birisi olarak kabul edilebilir. Bu iki çalışmada dikkat çeken en önemli unsur teorinin metafizik ya da epistemolojik temellerden ziyade, Heidegger’in ontik-ontolojik ayrımından hareket ile geliştirilen antagonizma kavramı üzerine inşa edilmesidir. Özellikle Laclau antagonizmaları popülist mantığın temellerine yerleştirirken, onu hem mantıksal çelişkilerden hem de hakiki zıtlıklardan farklı olarak ele alması başlı başına çığır açan bir durumdur. Bu çalışmanın amacı antagonizma kavramının Laclau’nun terminolojisinde ne anlama geldiğinin ve nasıl popülist mantığın temeline yerleştirildiğinin gösterilmesidir. Bu amaçla Laclau’nun ana kaynakları ve ilgili kaynaklar üzerinden bir literatür taraması yapılacaktır. Sonrasında ise antagonizma kavramının popülist mantığın temellerine nasıl yerleştirildiği post-temelci bir perspektifle açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır.

An Investigation on the Antagonistic Foundation of Populist Reason in Laclau

Öz

Ernesto Laclau is one of the most discussed and examined theorists in the world of social sciences today. Especially the concept of 'Hegemony' he built in his work 'Hegemony and Socialist Strategy', which is co-authored with his wife and close colleague Chantal Mouffe, and the 'Populist Logic' that Laclau then scrutinized can be considered as the most important reasons for this interest. The most important issue that draws attention in these two studies is that the theory is built on the concept of antagonism developed based on Heidegger's ontic-ontological distinction, rather than on metaphysical or epistemological foundations. Especially when Laclau place antagonism on the foundations of populist reason, it is a groundbreaking event, he distinguishes antagonism from both logical contradictions and real oppositions. For this reason, the aim of this study is to consider what the concept of antagonism means in Laclau's terminology and how it constitutes populist reason. A literature review will be conducted with the help of Laclau's main sources and related sources. Then, by using the post-foundational perspective, it will try to explain how antagonism is placed in the foundations of the populist logic.
