Commons About Marriage Customs of Turksih and Finnish Cultures and Woman Perception in The Context of Kalevala Epic

Abstract

Marriage legalizes coupling of women and man and finishes its process with rituals is a social fact. Socaializing process of woman and man ends up with statrting a family after they leave their parents. It is seen that there are differences in woman and man status when looking at such as factors marriage, manners and customs before and after marriage, roles and behaviors of woman and man. It is known that thre are differences not only in physiological but also with regards to sociological roles. It is seen that woman is thought to have moral rules and behave according to social rules has more critical roles than man. From this respect there are conditions and features woman must have and fulfill. Hair brade and cover have the characteristicnonverbal message about woman’s own marital status. Woman social role and marriage customs survive from past to present althougt there are some changes in Turkish culture. Marriage wich is a social fact preserve continuity with some magical rituals. It is possible to see traces of common cultual transmission in the different geographical when looking at intercultural similarities about marriage customs. In this context it is tried to determine the common marriage customs and woman perception with reference to Turkish culture and Kalevala is Finnish national epic in our study.
