The human being has made and used too many diverse tools and equipment within lıistoric process. One of them is spoon. Displaying clıange in terms of tlıe material ol which it is made; spoon has been made mostly of wooden, metal or bone. Taking into considerationfood types, the spoons alsa show diversity in making process. There is very diverse and rich tradition regarding spoon making in Turkey. The bases of the tradition have reached today being stronger tlıan ever with historical adventures of Turks. Although Konya, Kütahya, Akseki, Geyve, Taraklı, Göynük, Gediz were spoon making centers in its time. the spoon making weakens gradually in oıır day and the demandfor traditional spoon making reduces. This situation is seen as a very important problem for spoon making in which there is master-apprentice relationship.
