Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Based Distribution Of Relative Humidity In Isparta.
Öz
ABSTRACT
One of the important climatologically factors is humidity which refers to the amount of water vapor in the air. There are different types to expression of the humidity in atmosphere. Relative humidity is one of them. Relative humidity is an expression of how much water vapor is in the air, expressed as percentage of maximum amount the air could hold at that temperature and pressure. The aim of this study is to map and analyze long-term mean monthly and annual relative humidity over Isparta which is one of the important cities of Turkey. In this study, relative humidity values obtained from 15 meteorological stations of Turkish State Meteorological Service in Isparta. Mean monthly and annual relative humidity values were calculated from period of 1960 – 2015 long term relative humidity data sets and used for interpolation and distribution maps. Long term mean monthly and annual relative humidity values were interpolated and mapped using the Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method. The prepared distribution maps clearly showed high and low relative humidity parts of working area, Isparta. It is expected that prepared relative humidity distribution maps may be projection for different sectors.
