AI-Enhanced Lesson Study: Transforming Teacher Professional Development
Öz
This study examines the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the Lesson Study (LS) model as an innovative approach to teacher professional development. LS, a collaborative learning model, allows teachers to systematically plan, implement, observe, and refine their teaching practices. Advances in AI offer new opportunities by providing data-driven insights, personalized feedback, and adaptive learning strategies. Through a systematic literature review, this study explores how AI-supported LS enhances teacher education and student learning. Key themes include AI’s role in real-time feedback, data-driven lesson planning, and improved teacher collaboration. Challenges such as digital literacy, ethical concerns, and the need for structured implementation are also discussed. Findings indicate that AI-supported LS optimizes decision-making, fosters reflective teaching, and personalizes student learning. However, effective implementation requires training, institutional support, and integration into existing structures. AI-enhanced LS holds promise for professional development while preserving the model’s collaborative essence..
