CONTINUITY EDITING

Abstract: As all filmmakers would know, film production is requires three steps. Pre-production, production and post-production (including editing). Although these steps seem detached, they are interrelated. It is impossible for a director to make his plans by avoiding editing which makes editing also a part of pre-production. When we talk about editing, compositional adjustment of two neighbor frames is the main point because it affects directly the viewer. By avoiding jump-cuts the director cannot reach the viewers, which also mean the emotional affect cannot be created. Editing which is called the invisible art, will look more successful if it’s not noticed: Whether it manipulates the viewer or keeps away from that manipulation.

GÖRÜNTÜ KURGUSU VE DEVAMLILIK

Özet: Bilindiği gibi film yapımı, ister film, ister video malzemesi kullanılsın üç aşamadan oluşur. Ön-yapım, yapım, ve son-yapım (bu aşama çekilen filmin kurgulanmasını da içermektedir). Her ne kadar bir film çekimi bu üç farklı aşamadan oluşsa da, bu aşamalar pratikte iç içe geçmiş bir şekildedir. Bir yönetmenin filmini planlarken kurgu aşamasını öngörmemesi oldukça büyük bir eksiklik olacaktır ki, bu durum kurgunun planlanmasını ön-yapım aşamasının parçası haline getirir. Kurgu söz konusu olduğunda arka arkaya gelen iki komşu çerçevenin birbirine uyacak şekilde çekimi, yönetmenin izleyicisi ile buluşup buluşamaması durumunu ortaya çıkarır.  Görünmeyen sanat denen, kurgu fark edilmediği oranda başarılı olacaktır. İster izleyiciyi yönlendiren bir eğilime sahip olsun isterse bu yönlendirmeden uzak durmayı amaçlasın.
