The Tigris Basin covers East Part of Southeastern Anatolia- Regio/ı and Souîheastern Part of Eastern Anatolia Region. The Tigris Basin is drained by the Tigris River, which is one of the most important rivers in Türkiye. Total area of the Tigris Basin in Türkiye is 53874 square kilometers with respect to the Square Method. Our study area is 43970 square kilometers except Zap River Basin. The basin has different structures and relief features. Topography has great influence on the climate of the basin. Although there is mucit precipitation in the basin, aridity occurs in irrigation ternı As productive agriculture soil in the basin is not projiied exactly, some regional projects such as GAP (Southeastern Anatolia Project) areplanned in the basin. Planned dams both will eliminate irrigation problem and tvill generale hydroelectric energy. Nowadays, the Tigris Basin which consists of many important settlements is capable of carrying out the role of ancient Mesopotamia Civiiization. in this study, it is aimed to give a contribution about how water potential of the Tigris Basin can be used effectively.
