In this study, the process of transforming the Federation of Thought Clubs (FKF in Turkish) from a student establishment under the influence of the Turkish Labour Party (TIP in Turkish) to a student establishment advocating the national democratic revolution (MDD in Turkish) thesis is explained. FKF is the first mass organization of socialist youth in Turkey and has been the source of left-wing movements that will continue in the following years. For this reason, FKF has historical significance. The accumulation from the experience of the thought clubs that form the foundations of the FKF has met with left-wing politics in the youth branches of the TIP. However, young people could not supported by the TIP administration sufficiently, could not assume an important role in the party and could not gain organizational autonomy. FKF, which was established to provide mass support to TIP, also enabled the young people to achieve organizational independence. It is possible to follow the struggle between the TIP and the MDD movement, which advocates different strategies for the transition to socialism, directly from the discussions within the FKF. Winning the FKF leadership has been a challenge in itself for these two streams. TIP argues that the problems of Turkey, which it claims to have completed its democratic revolution to a great extent, cannot be solved on the street, and that socialism can be built in a parliamentary democratic way under the rule of the TIP, the party of the working class. The MDD movement is based on the thesis that Turkey, a country whose democratic revolution has been interrupted and underdeveloped, cannot directly transition to socialism. The movement advocates a strategy of progressive revolution: First the democratic revolution, which will be carried out together with a wing of the petty bourgeoisie, then the socialist revolution led by the working class. In its first period, TIP, which created great excitement among university students who were interested in socialism, lost this support over time and could not prevent the youth opposition that emerged from within it from passing to the ranks of the MDD and finally becoming the organizational stronghold of the MDD movement of FKF.
