Cinsel Sağlığın Değerlendirilmesi: Uluslararası Rehber Önerileri

Öz

Cinsel sağlık, cinsellik açısından genel iyilik hali olarak tanımlanır ve genel sağlığın önemli bir bileşenidir. Ancak, sağlık profesyonelleri tarafından rutin olarak değerlendirilememektedir. Cinsel sağlık hakkında iletişimi başlatma veya sürdürme konusundaki zorluklar, bilgi ve zaman eksiklikleri ile neyi nasıl soracaklarını bilememe sağlık profesyonelleri için en büyük engellerdendir. Uluslararası rehberler, bireylerin cinsel sağlıklarının sağlık profesyonelleri tarafından rutin olarak değerlendirilmesini önermektedir. Bu doğrultuda, sağlık profesyonellerinin kapsamlı bir cinsel sağlık değerlendirmesi yapabilmeleri için sistematik ve bütüncül yaklaşımı benimseyen değerlendirme adımları, modeller ve ölçekler geliştirilmiştir. Bu derlemede; cinsel sağlığın değerlendirilmesinde izlenmesi gereken adımlar ve sağlık profesyonellerine yönelik öneriler güncel kanıta dayalı uluslararası rehberler eşliğinde tartışılmıştır.

Evaluation of Sexual Health: International Guide Recommendations

Öz

Sexual health is defined as a state of general well-being in terms of sexuality and is a crucial component of overall health. However, it is not routinely assessed by healthcare professionals. Challenges in initiating or maintaining communication about sexual health, as well as issues such as lack of knowledge, time constraints, and uncertainty about how to ask the right questions, are major barriers for healthcare professionals. International guidelines recommend that individuals' sexual health be routinely assessed by healthcare providers. Accordingly, systematic and comprehensive approaches, including assessment steps, models, and scales, have been developed to enable healthcare professionals to conduct thorough sexual health evaluations. This review discusses the steps to be followed in assessing sexual health and provides recommendations for healthcare professionals, based on current evidence-based international guidelines.
