Öz

Yoğun bakım üniteleri (YBÜ) ciddi rahatsızlığı olan, travma veya cerrahi sonrası durumu kritik olan hastalara sürekli bakım veren mekanik yönden donanımlı ve özelleşmiş birimlerdir. Her yıl birçok birey yoğun bakım ünitelerine kabul edilmekte ve bu süreçte birçok fiziksel, psikososyal, mental stresörle karşılaşabilmektedir. Deliryum, anksiyete, depresyon, uyku problemleri, ağrı ve spiritüel distres bu stresörlerin etkileri sonucu görülebilecek emosyonel problemlerdendir. YBÜ’de emosyonel problemlerin yönetiminde psikoterapi yöntemlerinin yanında iyi olma hali üzerine etkili olan çeşitli fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon yöntemleri uygulanabilmektedir. Bu derlemede amaç yoğun bakım sürecinde görülen emosyonel problemleri tanımlamak ve bu emosyonel problemler için uygulanan fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon yöntemleri ve değerlendirmelerini derlemektir.

Emotional Problems in Intensive Care and Physiotherapy

Öz

Intensive care units (ICU) are mechanically equipped and specialized units that provide continuous care to patients with serious illness, trauma or post-surgical condition. Every year, many individuals are admitted to intensive care units and may encounter many physical, psychosocial and mental stressors within this process. Delirium, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, pain and spiritual distress are the emotional problems that can be seen as a result of the effects of these stressors. In the management of emotional problems in the ICU, besides psychotherapy methods, various physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods that are effective on well-being can be applied. The aim of this review is to describe the emotional problems seen in the intensive care process and to compile the physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods and evaluations applied for these emotional problems.
