Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenlerinin Eğitim Yönetiminde Etik Konusunda Görüşleri

Öz

Etik değerlere bağlı okul yöneticilerinin okulun genel işleyişini iyileştirdiği ve tüm paydaşlar için daha olumlu bir okul ortamı oluşturduğu düşünülmektedir. Hem akademik başarının, hem karakter gelişiminin, hem de sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanmasında etiğin önemli bir unsur olduğu kabul edilebilir. Öğretmenlerin etik konusundaki görüşlerinin incelenmesinin, yöneticilerden bekledikleri etik davranışları belirlemeye yardımcı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Etik davranış modelleri eğitim yönetiminde görev alan veya almayı planlayanlar için yol gösterici olabilir. Bu bağlamda değerler eğitimi veren sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin gelecek nesilleri etik değerler çerçevesinde yetiştirme konusunda daha fazla yükümlülüğe sahip olduğu varsayılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin eğitim yönetiminde etik kavramına ilişkin görüşlerini incelemek ve eğitim yöneticilerinden bekledikleri etik davranışları belirlemektir. Veri toplama araçları, yazarlar tarafından geliştirilen ve eğitim yönetimi ve denetimi alanında uzman akademisyenlerin görüşleri alınarak son şekli verilen açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan görüşme sorularıdır. Veriler, 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında Manisa ilindeki devlet okullarında görev yapan 25 Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmeni ile yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda toplanmıştır. Ortalama görüşme süresi 20 dakika olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bu görüşmeler sonucunda Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin "Kamu Etik Sözleşmesi", "Eğitim ve Öğretim Hizmeti Sunanlara İlişkin Etik İlkeler" ve "Etik" konularında yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. Ancak öğretmenlerin yöneticilere yönelik etik algılarının yüksek düzeyde olduğu ve eğitim kurumlarında etik uygulamaların yaygınlaştırılmasının paydaşlar açısından olumlu olacağını düşündükleri tespit edilmiştir.

Opinions of Social Studies Teachers About Ethics in Educational Administration

Öz

It is thought that examining teachers' views on ethics will help determine the ethical behaviours they expect from administrators. In this context, it is assumed that social studies teachers who teach values education have more obligations in raising future generations within the framework of ethical values. The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of social studies teachers regarding the concept of ethics in educational administration and to determine the ethical behaviours they expect from educational administrators. The instruments employed for the aggregation of data are in the form of interview questions, comprising open-ended inquiries that have been developed by the authors and subsequently refined by academics who are authorities in the domain of educational management and supervision. The data was collected from interviews with 25 social studies teachers working in public schools in Manisa province in the 2022-2023 academic year. The average interview duration was calculated as 20 minutes. As a result of these interviews, it was determined that their ethical perceptions of administrators were at a high level, and they believed that promoting ethical practices in educational institutions would have positive outcomes for all stakeholders.
