Educational Internet Use Self-Efficacy Beliefs Scale For High School Teachers: The Validity And Reliability Study

Aim of this study is to develop an educational internet use self-efficacy beliefs instrument for high school teachers. During the process of developing the scale, an item pool was first created based on the concerning studies on literature. Subsequently, the form that prepared was presented to the experts for content and face validity. After expert responses the form revised based on the opinions of the experts. Final form was applied to 254 high school teachers. The structural validity of the scale was examined by exploratory factor analysis and criterion validity. As a result of the analysis, the scale was composed of 26 items, collected under one factor. The validity of the criterion was inspected by the data collected by Educational İnternet Use Scale developed by Şahin (2009). A moderate, linear and significant correlation was found according to the analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r= .66). The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient was calculated .97. The psychometric properties of the scale developed within the scope of the study were presented in manuscript. It is suggested to use the scale in the in-service trainings and scientific studies to examine and develop the teachers' educational internet use self-efficacy beliefs.
