Biyografik Belgeselde Farklı Yaklaşımlar: The Times of Harvey Milk (1984), Reporter Zero (2005) ve Amy (2015) Üzerine Karşılaştırmalı Bir İnceleme

Öz

Bu makale, biyografik belgeselin özneyi temsil etme biçimlerini, anlatı stratejilerini ve etik yönelimlerini karşılaştırmalı bir perspektifle incelemektedir. Çalışma, Rob Epstein’ın The Times of Harvey Milk (1984), Carrie Lozano’nun Reporter Zero (2005) ve Asif Kapadia’nın Amy (2015) adlı filmlerini odağına alarak, biyografik belgeselin yalnızca bir yaşam öyküsü aktarmadığını aynı zamanda özneyi belirli tanıklık biçimleri, arşiv tercihleri, kurgu ritimleri ve söylemsel çerçeveler içinde yeniden kuran bir temsil pratiği olduğunu ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda makale, biyografik belgeselde kişi ile tarih, özel yaşam ile kamusal bağlam, etik sorumluluk ile estetik biçim arasındaki ilişkinin her filmde farklı biçimlerde örgütlendiğini göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır.

Different Approaches in Biographical Documentary: A Comparative Study of The Times of Harvey Milk (1984), Reporter Zero (2005), and Amy (2015)

Öz

This article examines the ways in which biographical documentaries represent the subject, their narrative strategies, and ethical orientations from a comparative perspective. Focusing on Rob Epstein’s The Times of Harvey Milk (1984), Carrie Lozano's Reporter Zero (2005), and Asif Kapadia's Amy (2015), the study aims to demonstrate that biographical documentaries not only recount a life story but also represent a practice of representation that reconstructs the subject within specific forms of testimony, archival choices, narrative rhythms, and discursive frameworks. Accordingly, the article aims to show that the relationship between the individual and history, private life and public context, ethical responsibility and aesthetic form is organized differently in each film.
