In the global agenda, while answers are being sought to issues such as transhumanism and how autonomous systems will change our lives; concepts like war crimes, nuclear threats, drought and hunger, and the escalation of all forms of violence and crime, etc., still threaten humanity's present and future. In such an environment, the focal points of scientific studies on media and communication, which are at the centre of all social phenomena today, are the subject of this study. In the years 2023-2024, bibliometric analysis consisting of performance mapping and scientific mapping was conducted on research articles indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, and the data were compared with the international agenda of those two years to discuss the role of social sciences in solving social issues. The findings particularly provide a template for scientists working in the field of communication studies regarding the current state of international literature; they offer a perspective on whether global science can provide solutions to global issues for all social scientists interested in any structure of epistemology, science communication, and the international agenda.
