Yahudi Apokrif Kitaplarında Kadın Kahraman Tipolojisi: Judith ve Esther Karakterlerinin Karşılaştırmalı Analizi

Öz

Kutsal kitaplarda geçen sözler ile o kitaplara inananların nasıl davranması gerektiği belirlenir. İnananlardan beklenen davranış değişikliği bazen metinde açıkça beyan edilir bazen de hikâyeler üzerinden ifade edilir. Bu durum apokrif Yudit ve Ester kitapları için de geçerlidir. Yahudi kutsal kitaplarındaki hikâyelerde baş kahramanlar genellikle erkektir. Ancak apokrif Yudit ve Ester kitaplarında kadın karakterler baş kahramandır. Üstelik Yudit ve Ester isimli kadınlar, sergiledikleri fedakârlık ve gösterdikleri kahramanlık sayesinde İsrail halkını katliamdan kurtarmışlardır. Kutsallık özelliği taşımayan bir roman dahi okuyucusunu etkileyebilme potansiyeline sahiptir. İnananlar için kutsal metinler bağlayıcı, güdüleyici ve belirleyicidir. Bu sebeple okuyucusu üzerindeki etkisi açısından Yudit ve Ester kitaplarının bütüncül bir bakışla ele alınıp Psiko Fenomenolojik yöntemle tasvir edilmesinin ve ana tema üzerinden tipolojik olarak tasnif edilmesinin önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu bağlamda, apokrif metinlerde anlatılanlar çerçevesinde Yudit ve Ester karakterleri arasındaki benzerliklerin ve farklılıkların vurgulanması, kadının toplumsal konumu üzerinden kadın kahramanın işlevinin belirlenmesi ve anlatılan hikâyelerin Yahudi sosyal bilişi üzerindeki etkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak apokrif metinlerde anlatılan hikâyeler üzerinden bazı örtülü mesajların verildiği ve Yudit ile Ester’in davranışları örnek gösterilerek galip gelmek için savaşmaktan başka yolların da olabileceğinin ifade edildiği tespit edilmiştir.

Typology of Heroines in Jewish Apocryphal Books: A Comparative Analysis of the Characters Judith and Esther

Öz

Sacred texts determine how believers should behave. Sacred texts sometimes explicitly state what believers must do, and sometimes convey this through stories. This is also true for the books of Judith and Esther. The main characters in the stories told in Jewish holy books are usually men. However, in Judith and Esther, the main characters are women. These women make sacrifices and perform heroic deeds. In this way, they save the people of Israel from massacre. Even a novel that does not possess the characteristic of holiness has the potential to influence its readers. Sacred texts, on the other hand, are binding, motivating, and decisive. For this reason, it is considered important to approach the books of Judith and Esther holistically, to describe them using the psycho-phenomenological method, and to classify them typologically based on their main themes. In this context, the aim is to highlight the similarities and differences between the characters of Judith and Esther as described in the apocryphal Jewish books, to determine the function of female heroes, and to evaluate the impact of these stories on Jewish social cognition. As a result, it was found that there are hidden messages in the stories told in the apocryphal texts. It was determined that the behaviors of Judith and Esther are held up as examples and that it is implied that there are alternatives to fighting in order to win the war.
