PUBLIC PERCEPTION, PUBLIC DIALECTIC IN ART EDUCATION

Abstract

Art is a concept that provides the cultural adaptation via the individual’s thoughts and life experience. Cultural contexts constructing individual and society are enough to guide the transformations oriented art and education of the life styles that were predicted by fenomenism that attributes contemporary individual with perceptual effort and consumption concept of technical developments mentioned by Walter Benjamin (1995). In that study, the public perception level of the art education in Turkey during high school period that is formed by central exams, was analysed. In the world of this study, that being evaluated the tests and cognitive levels about the importance of colours in the daily life and also visual perception, visual communication, literacies, visual culture, aesthetic, design, industrial design, media, art and its education of the individuals who are in the age of high school ,who attend to Anatolian High School and Trade High School in Samsun, with the survey method are aimed. The results of the study express the clues that are needed to be evaluated in terms of reflecting a social perception that is outdated by the cultural and industrial improvement in addition to pedagogy and also in terms of the perception of Turkey’s art education that is associated with only talent and the conservative structure that can’t transform the hobby prediction. Therefore, that study includes the results that will be able to contribute the possible evaluations which will be done for the institutional and public art education level and dialectic in our country
