AN INVESTIGATION OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS’ LEVELS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ACCORDING TO THE TEACHERS’ PERCEPTIONS IN TERMS OF DIFFERENT VARIABLES

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze primary school principals’ emotional intelligence levels according to the perceptions of the teachers in terms of different variables. The teachers and school principals in Karabük province form the population of the research and the sample population of the research is teachers and school principals who work in primary schools in central district of Karabük province. As a data collection instrument, “Emotional Intelligence Inventory” which validity and reliability studies of both have been made were carried out to 226 teachers and teachers are wanted to evaluate their school principals. According to the research findings gained, teacher perceptions related to high school managers’ emotional intelligence levels show a meaningful difference according to gender, age, how many years they have been teaching and working period with the present manager.
