AN EVALUATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL LITERATURE COURSE BOOKS IN TURKEY FROMTHE POINT OF LITERATURE EDUCATION

Abstract

Course books stil keep its predominant position among the educational materials in Turkey as in many other countries, since it is easy to reach and use them. Course books are also a guide for the teachers to put into practice the basic teaching strategies new curriculums stipulated. This study is a criticism of secondary school literature course books which are prepared according to Turkish Language and Literature Curriculum-1992 (9-10-11th Classes) and being used at the present time. The aim of this study is to make contributation to developing more qualified literature course books, both stating the frequently made and generalized mistakes and making new suggestions.
