Students’ success in mathematics is influential in achieving the attainments stated in the curriculum. The successful student will feel comfortable and peaceful. This feeling in the student is a sign of self-esteem. The aim of this research is to determine the levels of self-esteem and achievement emotion that primary 4th grade students have for mathematics lessons. The research was designed as a descriptive study in the survey model. The participants of the research are the 4th grade students who are studying in primary schools. As data collection tools, “Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale” and “Achievement Emotion Scale-Primary School” were used in the research. The data entry of the study was done to the SPSS 21 program. Normal distributions of the data were examined, t-test, one-way analysis of variance and the correlation were calculated. As a result of the research, it was found that the girls were more embarrassed and anxiety and the students with higher scores of mathematics were higher in both anxiety and squeezing scores and happiness and “Total Emotion” scale scores. Girls’ and the students’ have higher math grades self-esteem levels were higher than the others. It was determined that students whose parents’ have democratic attitude got higher scores on both scales. There was found a medium and negative correlation between self-esteem and achievement emotions.
