As a result of the measures taken to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have lost their jobs. Although the state has implemented various practices to prevent job loss and economic losses, most of the Syrians with temporary protection status in Turkey have not been able to benefit from these measures and have been completely defenseless against the pandemic. The study aimed to determine the problems experienced by Syrians with temporary protection status during their participation in employment due to the Covid-19 pandemic and how they affected their living conditions; it is aimed to contribute to the literature and to form a basis for future research by considering the two common problems faced by the entire world: the Covid-19 pandemic and the refugee problem. In this study, which was carried out using the semi-structured interview technique, 16 Syrians with temporary protection status and working age living in Istanbul were interviewed. The data obtained were evaluated with the descriptive analysis method. It has been determined that the most important problem faced by Syrians due to the Covid-19 outbreak is income loss. It has been observed that insecure work conditions of the employees mostly in informal employment increased the negative impact of the pandemic on their lives. The participants had difficulties in meeting even their basic needs due to the loss of income. The majority of the participants resorted to borrowing in order to compensate for the loss of income they experienced. According to the results of the study, the pandemic has made Syrians with temporary protection status in Turkey more fragile both materially and emotionally..
