In world history, the legitimation of power has always been known as one of the current and at the same time serious issues. Every ruler has tried to legislate his reign to be recognized by the public and to bequeath it to his children. Such attempts are also manifested in most of the states that dominated Central Asia in the 15th-18th centuries after the Mongol invasion (in some states they still exist). Already at that time, the head of state (padishah, khan, emir, prince, etc.) needed a set of ideals that would regulate the unity of the people and the foreign policy of the state. When we look at historical data, religious and historical (traditional) norms have been used to legitimize power according to circumstances. The given article focuses on the issue of power legitimation during the period of the Kokand Khanate, and also analyzes the issue of power legitimation on the basis of the legend of the Golden Cradle, based on the works of the period before the October Revolution and the period of the Soviet Union. It can be seen that the Kokand khans condescend to two bonds in terms of legitimizing power. The first method is the method of Genghis Khan, the second is the method of Islamic origin. It is said that the issue of legitimizing power concerns not only the peoples of Central Asia, but also many peoples of the world. The issue of legitimizing power also includes examples of how it was carried out in the Russian state of the 14th-15th centuries. Some attempts are taken to reveal the fact that the issue of legitimizing power is determined according to the needs and requirements of each period and different forms are used.
