The research aims to determine the attitudes of prospective physical education and sports teachers towards teaching and examining and whether the professional attitudes of teachers differ according to various variables (gender, type of teacher education, reason for choosing the department, grade point average, class, average monthly income, and parent's education level). In the study, sequential explanatory design, one of the mixed research designs, was used to evaluate the data in detail. In the quantitative part of the study, the survey model was utilized. In the qualitative part, a case study design was used. The quantitative research group of the study consisted of 325 prospective physical education and sports teachers. The qualitative research group consists of 12 participants formed using the maximum diversity sampling method. As a quantitative data collection tool, the "Attitude Towards Teaching Profession Scale (ATTS)" developed by Kahramanoğlu et al. (2018) was used. The interview form developed by the researcher was used as a qualitative data collection tool. While nonparametric techniques were used in quantitative data analysis, descriptive analysis was applied in qualitative data analysis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the professional attitudes of physical education and sports teacher candidates were positive and at a high level. On the other hand, it was determined that the reasons for choosing the department, grade point averages, and class variables of prospective physical education and sports teachers differed significantly in terms of their attitudes toward teaching. It was also determined that the qualitative findings of the study supported the quantitative findings. Within the scope of the results of the study, various suggestions were presented for researchers and practitioners.
