A Rare Intra-abdominal Cystic Mass in the Neonatal Period: Ovarian Auto-amputation
Öz
Torsion of an adnexia may cause to infarction,
necrosis and subsequent amputation of the ovary. An amputated ovary gets
calcification and may freely float in the abdominal cavity. We present an
amputated ovary in an 4-days-old female newborn with antenatal ultrasound and
postnatal computed tomography findings. In the differential diagnosis of
intraabdominal cystic masses with variable localization, an amputated over
should be considered.
