In Anatolian Seljuks and Ottoman periods, darüşşifas, which established on behalf of royal women, provided free health care to all citizens. Moreover, being the patronage of this foundation was enabled to enhance these women’s prestige. The number of women who instituted darüşşifas is extremely high.
