EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DEFLECTIONS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS WITH DIFFERENT REINFORCEMENT RATIOS AND LOADING TYPES
Öz
In the present study, the reinforced concrete beams with various reinforcement ratios, subjected to different load types such as midspan and two point loads, have been tested and the effects of the loading types and the reinforcement ratio on the deflections of beams have been investigated. The tested beams have been analysed by using the computer program developed for the analysis of reinforced concrete frames with members in cracked state, and the theoretical results have been compared with the experimental results. The deflections of beams subjected to midspan load were observed to be higher than the beams with two point loads. The effect of shear deformation on the total deflection of reinforced concrete beams has found to be important with increasing in reinforcement ratio in the beams.
