Öz
Why does a tradition representing the faith of millions of people remain invisible in the modern education system? More importantly, is this invisibility merely a matter of representation, or is it an epistemological preference? The book titled Alevism Education: Universal Principles and Pedagogical Models, authored by Cem Erdem and edited by Bülent Akın, is a resource prepared to seek answers to these questions using the conceptual tools of contemporary educational science. Alevism Education: Universal Principles and Pedagogical Models exhibits a systematic structure ranging from a theoretical foundation for faith education to concrete implementation and reform proposals. In this study, Alevism education is handled not merely as a theological transfer of knowledge, but as a holistic model of human cultivation shaped on the axes of ethics, aesthetics, and social justice. This approach stands out as the fundamental characteristic that distinguishes the work from many descriptive studies written on Alevism. Although the study seeks an answer to the question "How should Alevism education be provided?", it generally possesses the quality of a guide explaining how any faith should be taught. This possibility of a dual-layered reading reveals the potential of the work to be a reference source not only for Alevism researchers but also for all researchers interested in religious education, comparative education policy, and pluralistic curriculum design.
