PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Öz

In a parallel with the development of communication and information technologies, distance education is met increasingly in business and educational institutions in recent years. Institutions who want to perform distance education should determine the most suitable learning management system (LMS) which suits their own strategic objectives and business culture. Several software companies and universities offer very different LMS models. The institutions have to choose the most appropriate OYS model among these models. Choosing the suitable LMS of institutions is seen as a problem of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) in an environment where there are models with different characteristics. In this study, LMS`performance is evaluated by applying TOPSIS method which is one of the MCDM techniques. Model criteria are identified by taking into account literature review and the opinions of experts. In addition, weights of the criteria are identified according to the scores between 1-9 given by the experts. LMS are evaluated by the experts according to the specified criteria.

ÖĞRENİM YÖNETİM SİSTEMİ PERFORMANS DEĞERLENDİRMESİ

Öz

Uzaktan eğitim, iletişim ve bilgi teknolojilerinin gelişmesine paralel olarak iş hayatında ve eğitim kurumlarında son yıllarda giderek artan bir şekilde karşılık bulmaktadır. Uzaktan eğitim vermek isteyen kurumlar, kendi stratejik hedeflerine ve iş kültürüne uyacak en uygun öğrenim yönetim sistemini (ÖYS) belirlemek durumundadır. Çeşitli yazılım firmaları ve üniversiteler çok farklı ÖYS modelleri sunmaktadır. Kurumlar, bu modeller arasından kendilerine en ugun ÖYS modelini seçmek durumundadırlar. Değişik özellikteki ÖYS modellerinin bulunduğu bir ortamda kurumların kendilerine uyan ÖYS`ni seçmesi çok kriterli karar verme (ÇKKV) problemi olarak algılanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, ÇKKV tekniklerinden TOPSIS yöntemi uygulanarak ÖYS`lerinin performans değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Modelin kriterleri, literatür taraması ve konusunda uzman kişilerin görüşleri dikkate alınarak belirlenmiştir. Kriterlerin ağırlıkları ise, uzmanların 1-9 arası verdikleri puana göre belirlenmiştir. ÖYS`leri belirlenen kriterlere göre uzmanlar tarafından değerlendirilmiştir.
