WEBQUEST DESTEKLİ İŞBİRLİKLİ ÖĞRENME YÖNTEMİNİN MATEMATİK DERSİNDEKİ ERİŞİYE ETKİSİ

Abstract

Araştırmanın temel amacı, Webquest destekli işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin 5.sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik erişi düzeylerinde bir etkiye sahip olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Araştırma 2006-2007 öğretim yılında Niğde il merkezinde bulunan Dumlupınar İlköğretim Okulu 5. sınıflarında öğrenim gören 67 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deneysel yöntem kullanılarak "Webquest Destekli İşbirlikli Öğrenme Yönteminin" 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik dersine ilişkin erişi düzeylerine olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmada iki deney bir kontrol grubu olmak üzere üç grup oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada veriler öğrencilerinin matematik dersi erişi düzeylerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan "Matematik Dersi Başarı Testi" ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucu elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, webquest destekli işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubu öğrencileri ile işbirlikli öğrenme ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin matematik başarı testi son test puan ortalamaları arasında webquest destekli işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemi lehine anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda webquest destekli işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin öğrencilerin matematik dersindeki erişi düzeylerini yükseltmede bir faktör olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

THE EFFECTS OF WEBQUEST ASSISTED COOPERATIVE LEARNING METHOD ON THE ACHIEVEMENT TOWARDS MATHEMATICS LESSON

Öz

Main purpose of the research is to find out if Webquest assisted cooperative learning method has any effects on the mathematics mathematics achievement level of 5th grade students. The research was carried out during 2006-2007 school year on 67 students of 5th grade attending Dumlupınar Primary School located in the centre of Niğde. The effect of "Webquest assisted cooperative learning method" on achievement levels of 5th grade students regarding mathematics was examined using experimental method. Three groups – two experimental and a control - were formed in the research. The data were collected by means of "Mathematics Success Test" which aimed to measure the students' academic success level of mathematics. According to the findings of the research it was seen that there was a significant difference in favor of webquest assisted cooperative learning method between the post-test score means of mathematics success test of the students in the cooperative learning and control group and those in the experimental group to which the webquest assisted cooperative learning method was applied. Accordingly, webquest assisted cooperative learning method has turned out to be a factor which helps students' achievement levels improve at mathematics course.
